three-channel video installation
The subject of this project was to put the moment of death under a “time microscope”, and imagine what could be seen beyond the eye.
In this installation, three projections set side by side show life-size naked bodies resting on their backs; eventually each falls over into darkness, soon to be replaced by another.
While the excerpts below have been edited to the same length, in the actual work I cede control of time; a computer program randomly selects which bodies will appear in what sequence and determines the duration of their resting.
Computer programming ERIC HENCHOZ, sound editor YVES METRY, stage assistants JULIE BEAUVAIS, THIERRY BRIGUET, PHILIPPE DE MARCHI, PASCAL MERTENAT, ANNE ZEN-RUFFINEN, communication SYLVIE DUPASQUIER
